E100 000 SPONSORSHIP

MBABANE – After experiencing a drought in terms of finding the league’s sponsor, the Shiselweni Regional Football Association (SRFA) was on Saturday presented with E100 000, courtesy of Siphambanweni Milling.

The event was held at Siphambanweni area and present to witness this event included SRFA’s Executive Committee Chairman Bhekani Khumalo, who was joined by representatives of the teams from Siphambanweni and Matsanjeni zonal leagues. The two zonal leagues comprise of nine and 10 teams in that order.

The sponsorship will cover a period of three years, with each zonal league getting E15 000 per season. The sponsorship is coming at the right time for the region as the Shiselweni Zones were presented with playing equipment valued at E45 000 in the previous week.

The items included soccer balls, nets, corner flags and substitution boards. On behalf of the teams and the SRFA, the chairman extended words of appreciation to the sponsor and further encouraged the teams along with the entire community to support the Siphambanweni Milling.

“I would like to thank our sponsor for the kind gesture. The support that they have given our zonal teams is amazing and I believe that the players and the entire community will also give back to the sponsor through supporting their business and ensuring that it is not targeted by criminals.

I would also like to remind players and fans to maintain a peaceful league season as violence portrays a bad image for our beloved sport,” Khumalo appealed.
