MBABANE – Eswatini international Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa had been put on ice in South Africa.

Two Glad Africa Championship teams have ended up at the PSL Disciplinary Committee (DC), each claiming ownership rights of the player.
The teams are Mbombela United and TS Sporting and both claim the Eswatini-born striker has running contracts with them.
According to yesterday’s Sunday Sun issue, the First Division clubs are at loggerheads over the player, who is alleged to have signed two contracts – one with Mbombela and the other with TS Sporting.

Before the start of the 2019/20 campaign, TS Sporting wrote a letter to the PSL to raise the issue that Ndzinisa should not be allowed to play for any club until the matter was resolved.

In September last year, Sporting played under protest against Mbombela in a match that was played at Kabokweni Stadium.
The 28-year old turned out for Mbombela despite Sporting’s claims that they signed the Eswatini international.
Mbombela won the match 2-0. Interviewed by SunSport, Sporting Chairman Thobela Silungu said the striker signed two contracts, one with them and then played for another team.

“He is our player and has a contract with us. The matter is with the PSL Disciplinary Committee. They are the ones who will make the ruling. For us, we’ll wait for the decision, we don’t want to jump into any conclusions,” the chairman was quoted saying.

insist

So far, Ndzinisa has played over 15 matches in all competitions for Mbombela this season and they also insist the player belongs to them.
Chairman Oupa Matsebula believes they are not in the wrong and remain calm.
“If we knew we were wrong, why would we continue playing the boy?” Matsebula asked rhetorically.

He told SunSport that they knew that they were not in a good position on the log but they did not fight in courts.
“We fight in the field, of play. If we get relegated on the field that will be fine, not in a way that we do not understand, we’ve nothing to hide,” he said.
He added that the league’s DC would decide on the matter on April 1 after it was postponed. He said at this moment, they would not be saying much.

rules

According to PSL rules, a player entering into more than one contract covering the same period will be charged with misconduct. PSL prosecutor Nande Becker confirmed that there was a case involving these two First Division teams. Meanwhile, the player could not be immediately drawn for comment as his mobile phone rang unanswered when called several times yesterday.
