MHLUME – Mbabane Swallows’ title hopes are fading.
Yesterday, they dropped points against league strugglers Mhlume Peacemakers when they were held to a goalless draw by the sugar-belt outfit.

This was during their MTN Premier League second round fixture.
It was a week 17 pending fixture which the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) suspended after the sudden demise of Peacemakers head coach Alou Konate Badara.

Honour Janza’s troops are now seven points behind log leaders Young Buffaloes after failing to complete the double against ‘Bogandaganda’.

In the reverse fixture, ‘the Beautiful Birds’ won 2-1 against Peacemakers on September 15, 2019 at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Swallows are still in second position with 37 points while Peacemakers are second from the basement with 14 points.

It was the first match fixtured at Nsukuwansuku Stadium as it was closed for renovations. The overgrown grass on the pitch was contrary to the news of renovations.
The red and white glamour side were the dominating side with Sizolwethu Shabalala’s strike five minutes into the game going over the target.

Former Manzini Wanderers shot-stopper Ncedo Mamba was the hero for the ‘minnows’ pulling a number of great saves.
He first denied Sifiso Mabila one-on-one from the right channel for Richard McCreesh to blast over the goalpost.
Peacemakers should have taken the lead 16 minutes into the game but Mancoba Mahlalela’s strike hit the woodwork when Sandanezwe Mathabela was well beaten on the ground.

It was the visitors who attacked more and Ncedo pulled the most important save of the game when the goalie denied Sandile Hlatjwako’s header at close range from a Sizolwethu delivery.

Seidou-Baba Dlandja had scored towards the end of half-time through a header but his goal was ruled out for offside.

Janza introduced Menzi Sithole, Nhlanhla Ngwenya and Allen Mabuza for the trio of McCreesh, Wonder Nhleko and Sandile.
Their attack intensified with Menzi missing two glorious chances but the home side held them to a goalless draw.
