‘BADARA DID NOT ENTERTAIN INTERFERENCE’

EZULWINI – The late Mhlume Peacemakers coach Alou Badara was described as a man who was firm in his decisions.


This is the view of former Mbabane Highlanders director and senator Ngom’yayona Gamedze. He made these comments during the former Highlanders coach’s memorial which was held at Ezulwini Mosque yesterday. 

Gamedze was among the over football people who came to pay their last respect to the Malain coach. Also present during the memorial was Peacemakers boss Sibusiso ‘Scorpion’ Nxumalo, players (Gabriel Goshen) coaches which include Dumsani ‘Du’ Makhanya, Musa Mamba, Sihlangu coach Dominic Kunene and Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows director Charles Matsebula among others.  Badara has coached a number of teams in Eswatini which include the capital city giants in Mbabane Highlanders, Mbabane Swallows, Tambuti, Hub Sundowns, Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows and Mhlume Peacemakers.


“It is a big loss to the football fraternity. Badara was a dedicated man and his life was football. He had passion for the sport. He also stood firm when management wanted to interference and change his lineup.He was a man of his word,” Gamedze said.

He went on to send his deepest condolences to the family and football fraternity.
Meanwhile Sihlangu coach Dominic Kunene said he was a people’s person.
“He was someone that was easy to talk to and was a hard working person. The fact that he has coached almost more than three teams in this country speaks volume about his work,” Kunene said.


Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows director Charles Matsebula said they were saddened by the passing away of the coach.
“He was a warrior and we are still shocked by his demise.We shared good memories with Badara and he contributed to immensely to the development of football in the country. We want to send heartfelt condolences to the family and football fraternity,” Matsebula said.
His wife, Warbah Badara thanked the Muslim especially Abu Mohammed who she said supported them during the trying times

“We want to thank the Muslim family and football fraternity for the support. We appreciate and we are loss of words to thank them,” she said.
She went on to say that life would not be the same without his husband whom she says married in 2012. According to his wife, Badara had two children, their six year old son and another son in Paris, France. However she made mention that if there were women who had children with Badara should contact her.
