NHLANGANO – He is not done yet.

That is Royal Leopard recruit and goal poacher Thabiso Mokenkoane, who scored eight goals to inspire the police outfit to a record 12-0 win against Shiselweni’s Nsingizini Hotspurs. This  transpired on Saturday at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium during their Last 32 meeting of the ‘Idlala Kamnandzi’ EswatiniBank Cup edition. In an interview after the game, the South Africa-born forward said he would not like to say much concerning winning the knockout tournament top goalscorer award of E10 000 he won while with capital giants Mbabane Highlanders in the last edition.

Goalscorer

“I cannot say much about winning the top goalscorer award for now. Only God knows if I will eventually win it; I will keep pushing for more goals,” said the striker. Meanwhile, Leopard head coach Edwin Matsebula said he noted that on his debut, Mokenkoane combined well with players of their striking force such as Lungelo Tsabedze. However, the coach noted that the South African player was not 100 per cent match fit. “It was Thabiso’s first game with Leopard and I noted that he was not match fit and he still lacked confidence. As he continues scoring, his confidence will be boosted,” said Matsebula.

The reputable mentor added that the player would soon be back on top of his game as they understood each other well with the other forwards. Coming to the game against Hotspurs, Matsebula said it was good as they were trying new combinations and they (Leopard) showed superiority against the minnows. The coach did not want to count his eggs before they hatch and said it was too early to say they would win the 17th edition of the EswatiniBank Cup. Matsebula said they would take it one game at a time.
