NOBUHLE LEADS THE PACK!

MBABANE – Professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini is cruising to victory in the SuperSport Ladies Challenge.


The country’s pride was leading yesterday after round two of the SuperSport Ladies Challenge presented by Sun International at Sun City. Dlamini is tied with South Africa’s Lejan Lewthwaite on seven under par, score 137. The Lobamba-born professional golfer ended round one on Tuesday fourth with Jane Turner from Scotland having played four under par, score 68. The improvement from yesterday’s round saw Dlamini tied with Lewthwaite, who was leading on the first day.


The 29-year-old could pocket about E200 000 is she is crowned the champion. Dlamini will be back at the Lost City Golf this morning at 8:40am where she is going to tee-off with the duo of Lejan Lewthwaite and Tandi McCallum from South Africa who finished third in the second round yesterday. Dlamini started her campaign on a high as she finished second a fortnight ago in the Cape Town Ladies open where she earned E23 000 having played three under par. This is her second tournament in the year 2020.

Dlamini, who turned into a professional golf player in 2014, won the SuperSport Challenge when she finally broke her duck on the Sunshine Ladies Tour with at the Wild Coast Sun Country Club in 2018 and she looks set to again take the trophy home. “It was a good round, quite solid and I played three buddies with no drop shot.

It was tough today (yesterday) than yesterday (Tuesday),” she said. Dlamini said the course was tough and it was a little bit windy but there were good holes. She said playing when it was windy was a challenge but she was happy with her performance on the day according to her interview video posted in the @SLadiestour.
