MBABANE – From humble beginnings to reaching greater heights. This is the amazing tale of Lungelo Simelane, who was discovered during a Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation tournament six years ago. He was named the player of the series and that is where his career started to bud.

He joined Royal Leopard under-13 then was promoted to play in the under-15 when he was 14 years old. A year later he was discovered by Jomo Cosmos owner Jomo Sono, who described him as a rare talent.

He played for a season at Jomo Cosmos under-17 before he was snatched by the University of Pretoria where he also spent a season.  Fast forward to today, Simelane is a Supersport United Under-20 player.

According to his father,Sifiso, ‘Amatsatsantsa ako Pitori’, as Supersport United is affectionately known, had to fork out E70 000 to get his son from Amatuks.  The player’s agent Scara Thindwa, a former Kaizer Chiefs legend and pioneer of Scara Thindwa Soccer Foundation, when reached for comment from South Africa he said he was proud of the player.
