CULTURE VS FOOTBALL IN INGWENYAMA CUP

MBABANE – It will be happening in both football and culture in the Ingwenyama Cup this weekend.

Shiselweni culture teams will be battling it out for the final spots on Saturday to reach the finals while football teams will be playing the quarter-finals of the tournament. The first region to host the cultural competition was Hhohho last week during the tournament Last 16 fixtures in the football category. Ingwenyama Cup Public Relations Officer (PRO) Lenhle Masuku confirmed yesterday that it would be busy in all the categories.

The football tournament will take a break after the quarter-finals this weekend while culture will continue to Lubombo Region and Manzini at the end of the month. He said all the winners from the regions will battle it out during the main day where the football finals would also be played.

“Fans will pay E40 for each double header in the quarter-finals. The eight teams that are playing in the quarter-finals will be awarded with the playing kit on Friday (tomorrow),” he said.
From the quarter-finals, the eight teams are presented with the playing kit provided by the sponsors, Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF).
