MBABANE – Organisers are visiting the country’s main stadia ahead of the eagerly-awaited Eswatini open football trials.

EmaSwati have been presented with a rare opportunity to fight for a place in Europe through the 10-day trials that will run from January 20 this year, courtesy of Australia-based global marketing firm Professional Soccer Management (PSM).

The latter has partnered with the Eswatini Football Association (EFA). Yesterday the organisers led by PSM CEO Emmanuel Emenogu made a stop at Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini, where Ingwenyama Cup Last 16 games were played and they met students from the Metropolitan College.

Emenogu said the purpose of  yesterday’s visit was to sensitise people on the trials, saying the next stop would be at Somhlolo National Stadium today. The country’s soccer Mecca will host the crackerjack Ingwenyama Cup Last 16 clash between archrivals Mbabane Swallows and Mbabane Highlanders.
“On Monday (tomorrow) we will have a roadshow in Big Bend,” he said.

Full details of the planned roadshow are expected to be released before the end of the day.
The trials will be staged in all the country’s four regions. There are selected soccer grounds that will host the trials.
The trials are open to players in three categories (10-15, 16-18 as well as 19 and above).

Registration fees range between E100 and E200. They will be conducted by African legends who include Emmanuel Eboue, who used to play for Arsenal. PSM has partnerships with European teams that include Arsenal from England, Galatarasay and Alanyaspor, who are both from Turkey.

The latter side have already invited Mbabane Highlanders and Sihlangu enterprising midfielder Sisekelo ‘Rio’ Matsenjwa for assessment at the end of the month.

For further enquiries, would-be participants can contact the organisers on 7923 3359 or 7853 7579. Alternatively, they can send an electronic mail to soccer.management.za@gmail.com.
