BARBOSA FOR PCA WORLD CHAMPS

MBABANE – He will be competing in the world’s most prestigious bodybuilding competition and have his name go down in the universal history books.

Eswatini’s face of bodybuilding, and fitness coach, Arnaldo Barbosa is hard at work in preparation for one of the biggest competitions in his bodybuilding journey. Barbosa will take the stage in the Physical Culture Association (PCA) World Championships penned for May 24, 2020 at Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

The previous show was held at the same venue on October 28, 2018. The event offered amateur and PCA Pro Categories coupled with a record-breaking cash prize fund of US$50,000, which is equivalent to E767 265 as per yesterday’s exchange rate.

The prize is expected to escalate from this amount as a form of motivation and to fuel competitiveness among athletes.
To qualify for this show, Barbosa first competed in a couple of the PCA South Africa (SA) series shows, starting off in Cape Town in June, where he was crowned champion in the Under-60kg senior men’s bodybuilding. He was then selected to compete in the Nutri-Con PCA SA Championships held in Johannesburg on August 17, 2019 and was placed second.

“I was selected to represent the kingdom of Eswatini in the world championships after my final show last year. It was not an easy journey and it calls for commitment, hard work a strong financial muscle to cater for the most important things such as the flight ticket, accommodation, registration and food. My dream is to be crowned champion in my category and place our kingdom in the world map. Otherwise, I am ready and obviously nervous,” said Barbosa.
