MBABANE – Mehluli Nhlengetfwa has left Manzini Wanderers for good. The former director was recently reported to have handed back the reins to former directors in Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini and Peter Mathaba.

The two held directorship before Nhlengetfwa took over together with the late reverend Percy Mngomezulu.
New information has surfaced that Nhlengetfwa has left the maroon and white giants for good and is not planning to come back, ever.
Sources close to the South Africa-based businessman have reliably confided in the Sports Desk that Nhlengetfwa did not want anything to do with the hub giants anymore and he has left forever.

The sources said the former director has plainly stated that ‘he did not see himself coming back to Manzini Wanderers ever’.

Information that has also come to light was that the former director allegedly thought running the team as a company had many shortcomings and will never work for Wanderers.

Before his departure, Nhlengetfwa supposedly found it improper to continue as director for a team that was registered as some other people’s company.
It has also been gathered that internal conflicts were another factor that prompted his departure from the maroon and white outfit.
When drawn for comment on these issues, Nhlengetfwa only confirmed that he was not planning to return to Wanderers.
He neither denied nor confirmed the other issues such as his alleged opinion that running the team as a company would not work in the team’s favour, but politely asked not to comment.

“Angitiboni ngibuya,” he said in vernacular which could be loosely translated as, “I am not coming back.”
Director ‘Chief’ was also drawn for comment and suggested that Nhlengetfwa be contacted on the issue as he was away in South Africa.
“I suggest it is proper to contact Nhlengetfwa on this issue, I cannot say anything at this time as I am currently in South Africa,” he said briefly.
Meanwhile, the businessman shot to fame when he ran the Manzini Wanderers’ ladies team styled ‘Izi galz’ before taking over as the sole director of the ‘Weslians’.

His appointment to this position was facilitated by a Task Team led by former sole director Sikebhe Dlamini.
Nhlengetfwa’s appointment as the team’s director was confirmed last year by the then National Supporters Committee (NSC) led by the vocal Majay’vane Dlamini, which had then been calling for the former directors to step down.

The NSC, together with a number of supporters, advocated the businessman to take over as the team director as they felt he was fit to run the team due to his financial muscle.

On another note, Management Committee (MC) Chairman Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli has officially left his position together with General Manager Finance Sabelo Nxumalo. The team has been characterized by financial struggles for the past few months.
