MBABANE – December comes with a lot of demand for cash and financially-challenged Manzini Wanderers players and technical bench can heave a sigh of relief.

They were paid half in October, nothing last month but they look bound to have a Merry Christmas next this month, thanks to a good Samaritan who is known to this publication but cannot be revealed at this stage as immediate contact was impossible.

The players and the Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe-led technical bench, can expect their salaries for this month.

It was confirmed by the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sandile ‘Ntofo’ Dlamini yesterday that they finally got someone who was passionate about the club to bail them out.

“Yes, it is true that we have got a good Samaritan who decided to bail the team out for salaries for the month of December. Players will be paid their salaries definitely next week,” Dlamini said but refused to commit himself to the claim that it will be full pay which, according to the club, amount to E180 000 monthly if paid in full.

Dlamini expressed their gratitude to the good Samaritan for the kind gesture.

divulged

“The Good Samaritan did not want their name to be divulged. It must be mentioned though that the good Samaritan will only help for this month only,” he added.
He also praised the outgoing chairman, Bongani ‘Bhanyaza’ Mdluli for his loyalty to the team.

“Mdluli is a true Weslian at heart. He proved this when he offered to render his services to the club for free. He might have stepped down but he is part of the team and he is assisting where he can,” Dlamini said.
He also pleaded with their supporters to show unity in these tough times.

potential

“We need to be one big family during these trying times. We are still negotiating with other potential sponsors who will ensure that the team is flourishing again,” he said.
Meanwhile, the team has lost the services of two crucial defenders in Sanele Mkhweli and Mandla Palma after the team terminated their contracts.

The duo parted ways immediately after it was reported that Mehluli Nhlengetfwa allegedly stepped down as a director and salaries for October paid in half. More others have been reported to be wanting out when the January transfer window opens on January 6.
