MANZINI – Moneni Pirates have roped in yet another company as partners. This time it is Mbabane Motors, that has partnered with the hub side for a ‘win-a-car’ competition. Yesterday, the team officially launched their competition to mark their 52nd anniversary

Mbabane Motors were the sponsors of the vehicle where the competition was launched in the presence of the Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harris ‘Madze’ Bulunga, Manzini North and Manzini South MPs Macford Sibandze and Thandi Nxumalo.

Among the distinguished guests were Eswatini Sport and Recreation Council (ESRC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Darius Dlomo, EFA CEO Frederick Mngomezulu, PLE Executive Member Sicelo Mkhonta and Pirates GM Brian Magagula.

unveiled

During the launch, the ‘buccaneers’ of Moneni also unveiled their new soccer magazine, which will hit the market on December 1, 2019.
Head of Corporate Affairs Mhlonishwa Motsa said companies would be allowed advertising space at affordable price for a guaranteed viewership of at least 20 000 people at stadia alone.

Meanwhile, Director of Mbabane Motors Brett Foss said they were happy to be involved with sports.
He said they usually supported golf, angling and cycling but wanted to be more involved in football.

applauded

The club’s marketing team led by Brian Dlamini was applauded for securing the sponsorship and praised as a team that has greatly achieved.
The GM challenged the marketing team to help the club secure their own stadium with the assistance of the EFA.
Minister Bulunga said to him it felt like a return home and can never forget the beautiful times he spent with the club, over two spells, in his previous life as a coach.

“As many will remember, our second marriage was cut short by that move into politics so I am here today on unfinished business.
‘‘It is therefore pleasing to see the club doing so well, stretching the limits of growing this brand into uncharted territories,” he said.

perfect

He said the move by Pirates to remodel the club, allowing it to generate its own income and eventually sustain itself was a step in the right direction.
On another note, the car is the grand prize of the tournament as the team is yet to disclose the remaining 51 prizes as they celebrate their 52nd anniversary.
Each ticket costs E60 for those who want to enter the competition and 112 tickets had already been sold yesterday.
