ESWATINI IN SAME POT AS ISLANDERS

MBABANE – Eswatini National Under-20 squad has been placed in the same Pot two as three islanders in the COSAFA Under-20 Youth Championship draw.


Eswatini has been placed in the same Pot as Mauritius, Seychelles, Madagascar and Comoros according to information released by the COSAFA media panel yesterday.


The draw will be conducted today at 2:30pm in Lusaka.
The defending champions of the tournament, South Africa’s Amajita, host, Zambia, and Angola have all been seeded.

According to a report released by the COSAFA Media panel, Zambia have been seeded in Group A, South Africa in Group B with the 2018 third place Angola in Group C.


Pot One has four countries, namely, Mozambique, Lesotho, Botswana and Malawi.
While Eswatini were yet to submit the final lists of players for the tournament, at least six of the countries had submitted their squads including the host, Zambia, who will be led by Under-17 COSAFA Cup winning coach Oswald Mutapa Junior. Zambia will be hosting the youth tournament for the third time in a row. Twice it has been held in Kitwe, but this year’s tournament is expected to be staged between December 4 to 14, and will be hosted in the Capital City of Lusaka.
Young Buffaloes mentor Dominic Kunene will lead the Eswatini Under-20 squad in the tournament.
