TRICKY OUTING FOR WOUNDED ‘BIRDS’

MBABANE – They need a positive response.

That is the story of Mbabane Swallows, who have surrendered their lead at the top of the MTN Premier League charts.
The capital city giants, who are now five points adrift of the top spot, will play catch-up when they meet strugglers Manzini Sea Birds this afternoon.
With four games to spare, another slip-up will be a recipe for disaster in their chase for the E350 000 first round ‘carrot’. It is no longer in their hands, but they will hope to win their four remaining games and pray that invincible Royal Leopard drop points.

Fair

On paper, it should be a fair test for Honour Janza’s men, but they cannot rest on their laurels against a Sea Birds side that stand their ground against the ‘big guns’.
Games between these sides tend to be close, with Swallows forced to a 1-all in the first round of last season. Sturdy centre-back Kingu Pemba is out of the game following a red card in the 1-3 loss to Buffaloes in the last outing.
Janza will be forced to shuffle his back four.

Sea Birds equally crave all maximum points to shake off the unwanted record.
With only one win in their last five outings, Anthony Mdluli’s men cannot breathe yet.

They are two points above the drop zone. Despite boasting seasoned campaigners who include the likes of Darren ‘Dazza’ Christie, Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze and Sibusiso Dlamini, they are taking forever to get their campaign on track.
A win will go a long way in easing the pressure on both the former national teams’ coaches.
