MANZINI – The national team, Sihlangu believe that the 12th player (supporters) can play an important role this afternoon in their quest to reach the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers group stages.

Sihlangu coach Kostadin Papic and captain Felix Badenhorst said despite that the game would be played during working hours; the support can motivate the team to reverse the 1-2 defeat by Djibouti in the first leg match last Wednesday.

Papic said they were going to try and win the match, especially as they were playing at home.

“I believe in my players and this can be historical in the football of the country. We want people to come and support the team. In football, there is always pressure and we are working on that. The only player injured is Felix Badenhorst,” he said.
Badenhorst said the spirit was high in the team and all players were focused on the game.

“We will need support from all stakeholders, just like Djibouti did in the first match. Their fans came all out to support their team and we believe that we will make it through with support. It is important for us as players and the country to qualify for the group stages,’ he said.
Felix will be watching from the stands as he suffered a knee injury in the first leg in Djibouti last Wednesday.

The must-win game for Sihlangu is billed for Mavuso Sports Centre this afternoon at 3pm. Fans will pay E50 to watch the game and tickets are for sale at MTN offices around the country. Only 5 000 tickets will be sold for the match.
