ASHIHARA TEAM FOR ROOIBOS OPEN

MBABANE – The stage has been set. A nine-member team has been named by the Eswatini Ashihara Karate Association for this coming weekend’s international tournament.


Sensei Abdul Khaaliq Dlamini, who headlines the squad as Team Manager, confirmed the team and said preparations were going according to plan. “The Eswatini Ashihara Karate National Team is gearing up for the Rooibos Open Karate Championships 2019, to be held in South Africa, Kathy Johnson Service Centre, Clanwilliam, Saturday, August 31, 2019,” he said.


He added that the team, since final selection at the 1st Mathokoza’s Memorial Tournament 2019 and 14th Eswatini Ashihara Karate Open Championships and Sabaki Challenge 2019, have been training mornings and afternoons tirelessly.

“They have been going through tournament preparation drips, weight training, conditioning and keeping up with a good diet. As in the past, they are promising fireworks, they promise to make the country proud and to top all their divisions,” said the sensei.


Over 20 countries are expected to attend the tournament from the host the Republic of South Africa, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Seychelles, Botswana, India, Morocco and Thailand to mention a few. This is an annual event that has caught the eye of the international stage and it is growing bigger and better every year.
