LOBAMBA – The country’s elite football giants in Mbabane Highlanders, Mbabane Swallows and Manzini Wanderers are certainly on a good course.
This is if the analysis given by the country’s Coaches Association Secretary Musa Mamba is anything to go by.

Mamba was on Friday randomly asked to give his view on the country’s big three teams’ signings and change of leadership in as far as competing with the security forces’ teams was concerned.

Wanderers were first to change leadership late last season when they brought in South Africa-based businessman Mehluli Nhlengetfwa as a sole director before Highlanders and Swallows followed suit in May and this month respectively.

Highlanders gave the reins to South African businessman and politician Chief Ally Kgomongwe, who has already won the Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup, after his team beat Royal Leopard and Wanderers respectively. City rivals Swallows were not to be left behind as they also went out of their way to seek a worthy director and finally got renowned Archbishop Bheki Lukhele, who they officially unveiled on Thursday night at a dinner in Ezulwini’s Happy Valley Resort.

The new leadership also came with various quality signings for all three clubs and two games into the 2019/20 season, fans and football experts expect a much better competition this time around against the dominant security forces last season.

The security forces’ teams are Green Mamba (league champions 2018/19), Young Buffaloes (EswatiniBank Cup and Ingwenyama Cup champions 2018/19) as well as Royal Leopard (runners-up in league and EswatiniBank Cup last season). Last season’s league top three was made up of the security forces.
