EZULWINI – New Mbabane Swallows chairman Bishop Bheki Lukhele did not waste time endearing himself to the cockles of the hearts of the club’s players and fans alike at his unveiling here last night.

The All Nations Christian Church in Zion leader, as exclusively revealed by this newspaper, not only assured that as the club new boss, he will take it to greater heights but pledged a sum of E2 000 to each of the 25 players, who were part of the team that defeated Manzini Sundowns 1-0 on Wednesday night.
The slender victory courtesy of captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze’s 47th minute goal saw the ‘Beautiful Birds’ fly to the summit of the MTN L eague log standings with two games played.

“The bishop is yet to meet the players but he would like to announce that he will give each player who was part of the team yesterday, E2 000 winning bonus,” announced the bishop’s right hand man, Party Biya after Lukhele had been officially unveiled as Swallows new boss by the Chairman of the Council of Elders, Absalom Ngwenya in an event attended by the club players, Elders, Eswatini Football Association (EFA) president Adam ‘Bomber’ Mthethwa and Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Simanga Nhleko.

Also unveiled at the function which lasted for two hours was the club’s new Zambian coach Honour Janza who, as exclusively revealed by this newspaper yesterday, will lead the red and white outfit against Tambuti FC at King Sobhuza II Stadium on Sunday.

“At Swallows it has been our tradition as elders to give chairmanship of the club to one person and a person who belongs to the club. We started with Mbovane Fakudze, who then handed over the baton to Bheki Simelane.

Then came in Victor Gamedze and when he sadly passed away, his wife, Princess Lungile, whom we are very grateful for filling in the vacuum, told us we should find someone who can assist us as she didn’t know much about football,” said Ngwenya.

He said it was perhaps coincidental that the All Nations Christian Church in Zion leader was not only a Swallows person but the team had travelled the width and breadth of Africa in its football sojourns.

“We are happy that Swallows is All Nations because this team has gone to all nations around Africa,” he said to much applause from the audience.
