MBABANE – Local boxers might soon be in action.
This is after the Eswatini Boxing Association (EBA) had disclosed that they wished to have a boxing tournament for the 2019 Eswatini International Trade Fair (EITF) .

EBA President Pearl Dlamini confirmed that plans were underway to soon host a local tournament without going into finer details.
“It is true that we are planning on staging a boxing tournament soon but please consult with our Treasurer Member of Parliament (MP) Vincent ‘Malavi’ Sihlongonyane as he is the organiser of the event,” she said.

Local top boxer Thabiso Dlamini also said it was true that they were looking at a local tournament very soon but said it was a bit too early to say much on it. “We will get back to you at the end of the week, there is something promising,” he said briefly.
The treasurer was also drawn for comment and confirmed efforts to have the tournament during this year’s Trade Fair. “We would like to host a tournament during the Trade Fair. We have spoken to the Eswatini Investment Promotion Authority (EIPA) and they had agreed to allocate us space,” said the legislator.

He added that they were still engaging a sponsor who was promising to assist and had directed them to forward their request in formal writing. The MP added that they were crossing their fingers that the tournament would be a success and to see local boxers get in action during the event.
