MBABANE – If they die, it will be with their boots on.
That is Manzini Wanderers who clash head-on with bitter rivals Mbabane Swallows this Sunday in the Eswatini Telecom Charity Cup 2019 semi-finals at Somhlolo National Stadium. Commenting on the draw that was conducted yesterday at Eswatini Telecom’s Boardroom, Vilakati felt it was fair.

Draw

“There’s nothing much to say. It’s a fair draw as even if you wanted someone, you can still get them in the second match. We’ll give it our best shot. We have prepared adequately for it and I’m missing only one player in our signings at the moment otherwise I think I have a team to compete this season,” he said without wanting to delve into the missing player.

Vilakati also was quick to point out that a team could not be judged by a game of this magnitude but ‘if we die, we’ll die with our boots on.” He also thanked their directors for the new signings, saying while a lot has been said about them they always knew what they were doing. He said he was happy with his new team and believed they were going to compete well.

Vilakati faces his former team which he achieved a lot with domestically and internationally, which includes two group stage finishes in CAF Confederation Cup and CAF Champions League. Interestingly, when he parted ways with Swallows last December, then Wanderers’ coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe joined Swallows.

This will be their second meeting this year since they swapped camps. Vilakati stunned Swallows with a hard-fought 2-1 win at the same venue. On midfielder Leon Manyisa, Vilakati would not say much save to say he was hoping to have him registered for Sunday.
