MBABANE – Mormond Electrical has announced that they will sponsor two teams for the upcoming Swazi Frontier race.

The race, which is billed for October 10 at Maguga Lodge, will see hundreds of cyclists compete for gold. The three-day race will start at Hawane and finish at Maguga. Day one will start at Hawane and  finish  at Bulembu Lodge. Day two of the race will start at Bulembu Lodge and finish at Pigg’s Peak Hotel, while day three will start at Pigg’s Peak Hotel and finish at Maguga. Each race is estimated to cover a distance of 60km.

Mormond Electrical Clinton McNamara confirmed the latest news.
“Yes it is true that we have sponsored the two teams for the Swazi Frontier race. These are team Faka Fire and Team Stix Boys. Team Faka Fire includes William Kelly and Sihawu Dlamini, while Team Stix Boys is made up of Thulani Gule and Christo Carlessen,” McNamara said.
He said they have contributed a total of E36 000 to the teams.

Meanwhile, one of the cyclists when contacted yesterday thanked the electrical company for sponsoring them once again.
“This is not the first time Mormond is sponsoring us. You will recall that last year they helped us to enter for the race and we did well as we became champions. It was team Faka Fire and my partner was William Kelly,” Gule said. He also said that he was looking to doing well with his new partner, Christo.
“I am looking forward to this race and hopeful we will win. I want to thank Mormond for the kind gesture,” he said.
