MBABANE – It is official; Mbabane Swallows have lost star players Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu to South Africa’s National First Division side Mbombela United.

After snatching two Swallows players last season in striker Felix ‘Fela’ Badenhorst and first choice goalkeeper, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza; ‘Tingwenyama’, as Mbombela United are widely known, have done it again. They have completed the signing of ‘Sikhali’ and ‘D4D’, who started training with the Mpumalanga-based outfit last Friday, bringing the total number of Emaswati at the Mbombela-based outfit to seven. Others are trainer, Siyabonga Bhembe, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, Jose Figureido, Dennis ‘Yuki’ Masina and Thulani Ndzabandzaba.

The duo had been linked with a switch to Mbombela, as exclusively reported by sister publication, the Swazi News about a fortnight ago. An excited Mbombela United Director Oupa Matsebula, who was contacted while watching the side in training yesterday, confirmed the transfers but could not disclose the finer details of the deal. “It’s done deal and they are here training as we speak. “It’s like home, so they here to stay,” he said. Even though the players’ contract details were kept secret, impeccable sources suggested that it was a lucrative deal of more than a year. The source claimed that the duo was not expected to earn less than E25 000 per month.

‘Fela’ was reportedly signed for over E300 000 last season and he was said to have been offered a E30 000 monthly salary. The departure of the duo is undoubtedly a big blow to the ‘Beautiful Birds’. The players’ names had become synonymous with Swallows following an illustrious career. They were influential in steering the side to greater heights when Swallows qualified for the group stages of CAF inter-club tournaments. They spent over three seasons, with ‘Sikhali’ making a name for himself in the CAF Confederation Cup in 2017 before he suffered a terrible head injury that relegated him to the sidelines for the entire 2017/18 league season.

Swallows MC Chairman Khaya Vilakati said he was yet to get a briefing from management regarding the players. “I’m yet to get a briefing regarding the players, but I’m at a meeting as we speak,” he said briefly.
