MBABANE – The mud-slinging at Mbabane Swallows has not gone unnoticed by the team’s Council of Elders – an urgent meeting will be underway tomorrow.

Following the latest events at the red and white capital city giants which led the sudden resignation of their Management Committee (MC) last week, and the installation of a part time MC led by Khaya Vilakati, the club’s elders are on their foot.
“We are here to announce, as Mbabane Swallows Elders that everyone who calls himself an elder of the club or is an elder of the club is invited to a meeting on Thursday (tomorrow) at Malkerns Club, starting at 2pm.

Attention

“It has come to our attention that there is a lot not right in the team, there’s infighting or instability but clearly there are challenges. This meeting is one that will set things right. We are not anyone’s side but as elders we will put things to perspective,” said the Elders’ Chairman Absalom Ngwenya with his Secretary Enoch Nkosi supporting him.
Ngwenya and Nkosi made it clear that they would not be discussing the team’s news in the newspaper until their meeting as they were not on anyone’s side but that of Mbabane Swallows.

“When we talk elders, we refer to all those who served the club as players or officials. It’s time we addressed this as elders. We’ll release a statement soon after our meeting,” said Nkosi.
It is no secret that a lot has happened in the past month at Swallows , with officials accusing the other for various things including the usage of transfer fees received through sales of key players at the start of the past season.

Meanwhile, the MC comprising among others the team’s legends in Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane and Lloyd ‘Magic Feet’ Maziya’s resignation was sudden, as it came hours after the club’s Chairman Princess Lungile, wife to the slain Victor Gamedze who was leading Swallows, had dismissed any instability within their camp.
