MBABANE – The 112th edition of the Mbabane Parkrun attracted Awaken Africa.

Members of the Awaken Africa Organisation made a stop at the weekly 5km run, which started and finished at Mbabane Club yesterday.

They joined 103 other runners who participated in the race. Three of the members are from South Africa while one is from Australia. The members are Shalltin Beneke, Joe Tiffany Jenna, Joe-Merie Wessels, (all South Africans) and Jacob Mann, who is from Sydney, Australia.
Speaking to the media, Shalltin said they were glad to partake in the weekly race and were looking forward to the next edition.

“The Parkrun is an amazing experience and I am so glad to be part of the 112th edition. We arrived here on Thursday and our main objective as Awaken Africa group was to spread the Word of God and we felt the Parkrun was one place where we can win souls. We’re also about exercising and networking,” Beneke said.

Mann said they were here on a mission trip.
“We have a Parkrun in Australia. I learnt through my friends here and I decided to come. It was a beautiful atmosphere and the people here were welcoming. The route was very challenging especially in the first lap. The last lap was more enjoyable. The Parkrun helps one to keep a healthy lifestyle,” the Australian said.
