MBABANE – Mbabane Swallows are set to reunite with shot-stopper Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza.

The player was cleared to South Africa’s National First Division side Mbombela United, on a season loan deal which expires at the end of this month. After a frustrating campaign at the Mpumalanga-based outfit, where he struggled for game time; his first option is to return to Swallows, where he has a four-year contract. Swallows PRO Jackson Dlamini confirmed that the loan deal was expiring at the end of the month and the player was expected back in the team as per the loan agreement.

“Nkomishi is still our player. We’re ready to welcome him when the time is right,” he said briefly.

If ‘Nkomishi’ eventually returns, he will be fighting for a place in the last line of defence alongside the lanky Sandanezwe Mathabela and Ntokozo Shabangu. Meanwhile, the 31-year-old,who shot to fame at Manzini Wanderers,  before his switch to Mbabane Swallows about three years ago, reportedly earned over E20 000 at Mbombela.

deputising

He had joined the South African football second-tier outfit on August 13, 2018, but found stiff competition in the goalkeeping department at Mbombela and ended up deputising for Westeb van der Linde.

There was also Sikhumbuzo Khaliswayo in the picture. He had left for Mbombela with Sihlangu marksman Felix Badenhorst.
Meanwhile, another player who has an option to reunite with Swallows is full-back Sanele Mkhweli, who is a free agent after a stint with South Africa’s National First Division side TS Sporting. Swallows were yet to make a bid for him at the time of compiling this report, while reports had suggested that he was weighing offers from outside the country’s boarders first. Badenhorst’s future at Mbombela, on the other hand, hangs in the balance after reports by Chairman Oupa Matsebula that he is selling the team. The announcement was made last month. There have been no developments regarding the issue since then.
