MBABANE – A loyal servant is reportedly on his way out of the ‘Black Bull’s kraal. That is Mbabane Highlanders long-serving captain Xolani ‘Chocco’ Sibandze, who has allegedly been cleared to Manzini Sea Birds.

This comes when players are reportedly being owed their May salaries and consequently threaten not to train ahead of the Bible Society Cup. However, the reason for the said imminent exit could not be ascertained.

Information gathered by the sports desk was to the effect that the player was cleared by team’s top officials a few days ago.
Sources close to ‘Izinyoni Zolwandle’, as the Manzini outfit are fondly known, disclosed that the two teams were currently in talks to finalise the player’s move to Sea Birds.

“We are finalising talks regarding the player joining the team. Some of the papers are already with Sea Birds, but it seems Highlanders are divided over the issue.

“All necessary documents must be in possession of Sea Birds to complete the transfer which is not yet the case,” confided an inside impeccable source.
When sought for comment, Sea Birds Governor Sicelo Mkhonta neither confirmed nor denied the news but asked not to be drawn for comment for now.
“I will rather not comment for now,” he said briefly.

The team’s General Manager (GM), London Dlamini, confirmed that the news that ‘Chocco’ would soon be joining the team was something under discussion.
“Kukhona kona lokutsi uyeta,” loosely translated, “The news that he might be joining the team are not false.”
Nonetheless, Dlamini said there was nothing that could be communicated by the team at the moment as nothing official was yet finalised.

‘Chocco’ was also drawn for comment and acknowledged having heard of the news to clear him to Sea Birds which he, however, said had not yet happened.
“I have heard of the news but I cannot comment until the clearance had been finalised,” he said briefly.
The capital city giants’ Public Relations Officer (PRO) Paul ‘Magidza’ Masilela could not be drawn for comment after his mobile phone rang unanswered when called several times yesterday.

The team’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Thulani Khumalo could also not be reached on his mobile phone. He was being contacted to disclose the name of the top official(s) who is said to have cleared the player to Sea Birds.
