NO RECORDS BROKEN IN AAE NATIONAL CHAMPS

MANZINI – While the Athletics Association of Eswatini (AAE) National Championships were of high standard, no athlete broke the national record.


The championships attracted athletes from South Africa and Mozambique who gave tough competition to the locals with the elite continuing with their dominance. They include sprinters Sibusiso ‘Swazi Bolt’ Matsenjwa, Phumlile Ndzinisa, Thandaza Zwane and Erikah Seyama among others.

The timing of the event was electronic particularly the track events and the introduction of hurdles was what made the championships special. Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Harries ‘Madze’ Bulunga spent the whole, day enjoying the championships.


Bulunga said he was impressed by the standard of competition especially with the presence of the international athletes.
He said the organisation of the event was on point and now it’s the athletes who have to deliver.
