MBABANE – Fitness enthusiastics have all the time to prepare for the Nkambeni Sports Recreation Club hiking event.

This follows an announcement by the club General Secretary Emmanuel Mkhwanazi yesterday at the Eswatini Olympics and Commonwealth Games Association offices.

Mkhwanazi said they were happy to announce that for the first time in the history of the club, they would host a hiking event.
“We have been hosting events such as aerobics, board games, fun games and half marathons but now we have decided to venture into hiking.
‘‘It will be held at Nkambeni and it will be called Shumi Survivor Hiking.

‘‘We urge the nation to save September 28 in their calendars because that is when the event will take place,” Mkhwanazi said.

He also disclosed that those who are interested to be part of the event should pay E200.
“Companies that would be interested to pitch a stall will have to pay E1000 while sole traders will be charged E500 with informal traders having to pay only E30,” he disclosed.

fundraise

He highlighted that the event was solely to fund-raise for their fencing project.
“We have been given land which is 60 hectares where we plan to build a stadium, shopping mall and other sporting arenas.
‘‘The plan is to fence the place so we will need funds to fence the area. We are appealing to companies and the private sector to come on board and support us,” he said.

He also said that after the hike, they would have aerobics and tug of war to spice up the event.
Also present during the event was the Chairman of the club Nhlanhla Maseko and Treasurer Thokozani Zulu.
Maseko appealed for the nation’s support, with the treasurer Zulu sharing the same sentiments.
