MBABANE – A record fine! Tambankulu Callies Chairman Ngudze Mamba this week received the heaviest fine ever meted to a local football official by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) after being fined a sum of E30 000 for threatening to assault Black Swallows official.

This was during the MTN National First Division League match played at Tambankulu Stadium.
It was reported that the former Red Lions Director pushed the official and threatened to assault him, which resulted in the charges being preferred against him.
He was found guilty by the DC Chaired by Thulani Sibandze. Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Simanga Nhleko confirmed the fine yesterday.

“The official for Tambankulu Callies, by the name of Ngudze Mamba, was found guilty and was fined E30 000 for threatening an official of their opponents, Black Swallows,” he said.

Relegation

Tambankulu Callies are facing relegation as they are fifth from the bottom of the log with three games remaining.
They have 21 points while Mbabane City and Hub Sundowns sit on 18 points each. Mamba left Red Lions for Tambankulu Callies, having been with Moneni Pirates and Tambuti.

Black Swallows will also face the DC for two charges; first being for failing to control their supporters and the second for uttering remarks towards match officials.

City Warriors, who are also playing in the national first division, will appear before the DC for failing to honour their league match against Mbabane City at the Prince of Wales sports ground.
They will face the DC on a date yet to be confirmed.

Meanwhile, Young Buffaloes were fined E15 000 by the DC for attempting to assault a referee during the MTN Premier League game against Mbabane Highlanders. The game was played at Somhlolo National Stadium and it ended in a 1-all draw.

Wanderers

“Manzini Wanderers were also charged after the fans threatened to assault match officials during the MTN Premier League game against Manzini Sea Birds played at Mavuso Sports Centre. They are yet to appear before the DC,” the PLE CEO said.
Nhleko said all the teams with pending cases would appear before the DC before end of the season.
