Bull' to play SA Cosmos in Moz!
MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders are next to play South Africa’s Jomo Cosmos who had been here over the weekend to play Mbabane Swallows.
The game is billed for Mozambique on Saturday where it has been gathered that Mozambican side Ferroviaro F.C. will be the host. Highlanders will travel with traditional rivals Mbabane Swallows for the friendly tournament.
This effectively means there will be Highlanders, Swallows, Jomo Cosmos and Ferroviaro.
While details of the games are scanty, it was gathered from a source that they were slated for Saturday and Sunday. This also means that both Highlanders and Swallows will not play their MTN League games over the weekend.
Highlanders were due to play XI Men while Swallows were set to visit Malanti Chiefs at Rocklands Stadium. Efforts to get Highlanders Musa Masuku who was said to have all the details failed as he did not answer his phone when called for the better part of the day yesterday.
However, the trip to Moza-mbique was confirmed by Highlanders’ Board of Directors Chairman Senator Ngom’uyayona Gamedze but he could also not give out specific details as he preferred that Masuku be called on the matter.
Swallows secretary Sibusiso Manana also confirmed the games but said he could not give out any details until the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS) had responded to their request to attend the games as they would help them prepare for the CAF Games next month.
Swallows will represent the country in the Orange CAF Champions League while Highlanders are in the Orange CAF Confederations Cup where they face Zimbabwe’s Caps United while the former meet South Africa’s SuperSport United.
