MBABANE – Local reigning boxing champion Thabiso Dlamini was again unmatched in the ring this past weekend.

The fierce boxer from Matsapha Boxing Club defeated Mneli Nkambule during the main bout of the Eswatini Boxing Association (EBA) local tournament.
This was on Saturday at the Bosco Skills Centre Hall where the two boxers fought in the 69kg category.

The boxer’s only blip came in January after a long time of dominance in both local and international boxing during a local boxing tournament held at Princess Pholile Hall in Malkerns.
It appears though, that the boxer has found his footing again and results are going in his favour.

walkover

Meanwhile, Thabiso’s teammate Zweli Dlamini won on walkover in bout 16 as his opponent, Nsindiso Zikalala, from New Boys Boxing Club did not show up.
EBA Secretary General Thab’sile Mngomezulu confirmed the results and highlighted that bout four; pitting female boxers in Silindile Matse and Siphesihle Ndlangamandla had to be cancelled due to the fact that both boxers were from the same boxing team, Ubombo Boxing Club. “Bout 19 was also cancelled,” she said.

In other notable fights, South Africa-based boxer Falakhe Vilakazi lost again to Matsapha Boxing Club boxer Andiswa Sibandze in the 64kg category.
Callum Mathews was exceptional as he beat Melusi Khaya of Simunye Boxing Club winning through the Referee Stoppage Contest (RSCH).

Thami Mazibuko of Zebra Force defeated last year’s Trade Fair Boxing tournament champion Mangaliso Gina of Mhlume Boxing Club in the 64kg category.
