EXHILARATING 5-HORSE RACE!

MBABANE – Six points behind log leaders Royal Leopard, seven games left to go, tough fixtures ahead including the leaders and big derby rivals Mbabane Swallows as well as Green Mamba, all chasing the Holy Grail of local football.

Mbabane Highlanders are in a must-win situation tonight or their chances to land this one in years will be heavily dented.
This is a five-horse race at the top and of all the teams, losing is something they certainly have eliminated as the race thickens and the road to glory narrows to the end. Interestingly, they are up against a club that has shown great potential but has lacked positive results.

Citizens are on the basement of the table and want out, so this is one game they will not want to lose – they did not lose it in the first round but got a point after a goalless draw last November. Winning it was also possible for Citizens as they created some good scoring opportunities as well.

A win for Citizens could prove a huge relief in their relegation survival battle, as they could possibly go two places up above 13th-placed Vovovo and 14th-placed Tambuti who had a date against the other last night in Big-Bend, Mayaluka Stadium. In the event Vovovo or Tambuti win, Citizens will go above the losing club with a win.

Highlanders on the other hand, are under pressure not to slip but ensure a win to stay well in the race as any other result could prove a massive blow. A win stands to take them to third place even if Swallows beat Green Mamba, only the goal difference will determine the third spot between the capital city rivals but that is in case they all win. Also, Buffaloes must have lost or drawn against Sundowns.
