MC WARNS AGAINST BAD CONDUCT

MBABANE – Just like the teams had several times been warned against unsporting behaviour at stadia, the EswatiniBank Management Committee (MC) has reiterated that this is a punishable offence.

This was yesterday at the EswatiniBank Auditorium during the 16th edition launch and last 16 draw of the EswatiniBank Cup.
The Secretary of the MC, who also serves as the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Simanga Nhleko, said the misconduct of teams, their supporters in particular, came with a heavy price in terms of fines to the teams.

“Misconduct cost the teams, it is not that we like to charge teams and collect their money but circumstances compel us to preserve the good nature of the game,” he said.
He applauded the teams for their well-mannered behaviour during the last 32 games of the tournament and urged them to continue doing so even in the last 16 games.

Nhleko then warned players against exchanging words with referees and match officials during soccer matches. “I am privileged to have been a referee for over 25 years; I therefore know very well that the referee’s decision is final. Constant argument with the referee will not help the player but put them in serious trouble,” said the CEO.

Nhleko further commended the country’s referees for handling games well in the past competitions, including league games.
