BIG BEND - Royal Leopard narrowly escaped to limp to the Last 16 of the EswatiniBank Cup.
They beat Madlenya FC 5-4 yesterday here after sudden death penalties. The police side should give credit to substitute goalkeeper Ncamiso ‘Mbhonyo’ Dlamini who did well to make two great saves.

He was introduced five minutes before full time with Phephisani Msibi, who fans of the home side accused of feigning his injury as he went to the ground off-the-ball and stunned many. This raised doubts from most supporters of the second-tier side as they could tell that this was in preparation for penalties so they could bring on Dlamini, which they eventually did and also have him to thank for making it through to the Last 16.

It was confirmed by the club that Zungu and Vilakati were already ruled out due to injury for the latter while the former was given compassionate leave and had to rush home until next week.
Vilakati had not even returned to training despite being treated and discharged same day last Sunday for a head injury sustained after he collided with Malanti Chiefs’ Binwell Katinji.

Mngomezulu also admitted he was out with a shoulder injury and had not been training all week while Shabalala is also a major doubt due to an injury as well.
“I will be with the team but I don’t think I will play,” he said.
Highlanders have a strong squad with depth in it but these injuries could prove costly in the EswatiniBank Cup’s Last 32 clash away at Mayaluka Stadium at 3:30pm.

The club’s PRO, Paul ‘Magidz’eludzakeni’ Masilela, referred all questions to the CEO, Thulani Khumalo.
“Yes, it is true that Zungu and Vusi are out of tomorrow’s (today’s) clash. Zungu is on compassionate leave and is out of the country. He will be available for selection in our next game. Vilakati is still being assessed by the team doctors after his injury last week and very unlikely to play as he has not trained,” Khumalo confirmed.
