LOBAMBA – If anyone symbolised Mbabane Swallows heart-drenching loss yesterday, it was the sight of coach Musa Manyatsi when he faced the media in the small press room.

Manyatsi was visibly distraught and mumbled his way through the whole press conference as the stark reality of the three-time successive champions finally lost their 19th game of the Ingwenyama Cup.

“The result is very bad. We were disturbed by the penalty we conceded. Our plan was to score first and then when we went out to look for an equaliser in the second half, we then conceded again,” Manyatsi said.

He admitted the army side had prepared well for the game even when he threw as much as three strikers upfront in the second half in search for an equaliser.

gusty

Buffaloes coach Dominic Kunene hailed his charges for an overall gusty performance.
“It’s not easy playing a team as experienced and talented as Swallows but we had planned for them on how to be much quick on our transition and also cut their supply. Second half, we knew they would come at us but we were ready,” Kunene said.

Swallows captain Tony ‘TT’ Tsabedze, who for the first time in the history of the tournament will not be climbing up to the podium to receive the glittering trophy from its patron, His Majesty King Mswati III, said losing was part of the game.

“It’s not a train smash, we have new players. We just conceded a penalty and then had to chase the game,” he said.
Buffaloes captain Nhlanhla Gwebu paid tribute to Swallows for giving them a good game.
“Swallows gave us a good run and now we have to focus on the final. It won’t be easy,” Gwebu added.
