MBABANE – To be the best, you have to train with the best. This adage holds true for the I.KO. Kyokushin Karate of Eswatini brown belts and shodans, who will train for two days with South Africa in Ulundi in preparation for the Dan grading billed for Cape Town, South Africa in May.

Executive Member, Mzwandile Ngwenya, said the team that will be sent to the South Africa training include Senpai Herod Kunene, Bukhosi Mhlanga, Bandiswa Ngcamphalala and Lwazi Ndlandla to mention a few.

“The association will be sending few brown belts and shodans to the two days training camp in Ulundi. They are preparing for Dan Grading billed for mid-year in Cape Town, South Africa. After the training from Ulundi, we will be having an executive meeting where we will be deliberating on the 2019 calendar of events for the year,” he said.

Ngwenya said the team in South Africa, Ulundi will start the camp with a three-hour straining session starting Friday at 5pm to 8pm and continues on Saturday from 6am until late. He said there will be three breaking sessions of a kihon and kata.

Ngwenya said the team to go to the training camp in South Africa first went under a two-hour training session on Saturday at Zakhele Community hall. He said the two hours training session was just to see how ready the artists were, as they are from the festive holidays.

“The training was attended by 20 students and seven juniors. It was conducted by Sensei Alie Mdluli and Sensei Wandile Motsa, who were preparing the seniors to participate in the Dan training to be held in Ulundi,” he added.
