E8 000 FOR FIFA-19 WINNER

MBABANE – The best football player will take home E8 000 without kicking a ball.

This will be during the FIFA-19 tournament currently being played by 65 players at Sibebe View Guest House, Mbabane. The first prize is a lucrative E8 000 while the runner up will take home a PS Consule with the third prize being E2 000. The tournament started yesterday with the finals billed for Friday at 11am where the best players will clash for the championship. Mcondisi Mbingo who is the organiser of the tournament said the attendance was good and there are lots of players who are eager to win the first prize money.

He said the PlayStation game was growing all over the world with tournaments held where big monies are won. He said it was not all about being able to play inside the field of play but you can be a champion without kicking the ball.

“This is our end of the year tournament and the response from players is great. Each player is made aware of when he would be playing and there is a taxi that takes the players from town, included in the E120 registration,” he said. Mbingo said the tournament is sponsored by Think Work with the prizes. The tournament is played using the UEFA Champions Legaue format where the players start on a round robin before qualifying for the knockout. The players playing in the tournament are of all ages with the youngest being Simphiwe Mkhwanaziwho is 13-year-old. Also present is last year’s winner, Sibusiso Dlamini who said he is ready to defend the title. Dlamini, who is 17-year-old plays using Italy side, Napoli and by yesterday, he had played one game and it ended in a draw.
