MBABANE – Mbabane Highlanders veteran midfielder Menzi Sithole has reportedly attracted interest at South African National First Division side Uthongathi.

It was reliably gathered the former Royal Leopard star was supposed to leave for South Africa’s premiership side Amazulu and ended up at the Kwazulu-Natal-based ensemble, who are competing in that country’s football second-tier.

While the details of the arrangement with Uthongathi were scanty at the time of compiling this report, it was gathered the player was invited for assessment.
This publication learnt that the player left yesterday and trained with the team during their 2:30pm training session.
Even though the period of engagement of the player could not be ascertained, he is expected back on time for Highlanders’ Ingwenyama Cup last 32 fixture this coming weekend.

Highlanders PRO Paul ‘Magidz’ludzakeni’ Masilela said he was yet to learn about the latest developments, and wondered if the move was possible because the player was a police officer.
Meanwhile, Uthongathi won promotion to the National First Division last year. They are currently ninth on the charts in the 16-team league.
