DAR ES SALAAM – Tanzania’s Simba Sports Club are most likely to be hauled over the coals by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for ‘unsportmanship behaviour’, after they were caught sprinkling a watery substance on the way leading to Mbabane Swallows’ dressing rooms.

An official from the Tanzanian side was seen sprinkling the watery substance  from the moment the Azama bus, which ferried Swallows arrived at the 60 000-seater national stadium.
Swallows players had to remain inside the bus for more than 10 minutes as General Manager, Sandile ‘Beyond 2000’ Zwane and head of delegation Sikhumbuzo Dlamini, tried to reason with some of the officials on the conduct of the Simba Sports Club brawny official, who showed no remorse in carrying out his mission in full view of passers-by.

He sprinkled the watery substance even on the path leading to the dressing room entrance.
Moments later, CAF match commissioner, Joseph Nkole was seen taking pictures using his I-pad and had a brief conversation with the Swallows officials, assuring them the evidence will be filed in his report.

“I will file a report to CAF about all this,” he said briefly.
Head of delegation Sikhumbuzo Dlamini condemned the act by the host team, Simba Sports Club.
“We understand people believe in these things but they should show some respect for their opponents. This does not give the game in Africa a good image. We are not happy about the treatment we got at the stadium,” he said.

Swallows General Manager, Sandile Zwane said what had happened was shameful but as a team they were now used to such things by opponents in Africa.
“Last time they beat us up, it’s better this time because I think it’s just some mind games. We have to look beyond this and focus on our game. Since we arrived here they have been doing such mind games but CAF will deal with such issues. Ours is to concentrate on the football,” Zwane said.
Swallows will take on Simba Sports Club on Tuesday at Mavuso Sports Centre. Kickoff time is 3pm.
