DAR ES SALAAM – Stand-in Mbabane Swallows Malawian- born coach Kinnah ‘Electric Man’ Phiri was adamant the 4-1 scoreline to Tanzania’s Simba Sports Club was a bit flattering.

Facing the Tanzanian media in a packed press conference room, Phiri minced no words that three of the goals conceded by Mbabane Swallows were just individual mistakes.
“I can say without fear that this result was just mere bad luck. We gave them the goals we conceded today. They didn’t deserve the goals,” Phiri said.
He said Swallows can turn the 4-1 deficit and win in Eswatini.

“We scored one goal and we can score three or more at home. These boys are capable. I only had one training session with them but to be fair they are a good team and they played well,” Phiri said.

Suspended Swallows head coach Thabo ‘Koki’ Vilakati watched from the sidelines as Phiri, assisted by Musa Manyatsi, led the team in yesterday’s demoralising 4-1 setback. The ‘Birds’ are expected back home tonight and will face the Tanzanians in the second leg on Tuesday at Mavuso Sports Centre.
