GCINILE SHINES IN PARKRUN

MBABANE – “My target was to beat my personal best team.” These were comments by University of Eswatini , Mbabane Campus  student, Gcinile Magongo after winning the 81st  Mbabane parkrun ladies category yesterday.Magongo, who is an avid runner, clocked 25:11 minutes to finish the 5km timed run which started and finished at the Mbabane Club. In the previous race, she had clocked 28:19 minutes where she was the winner in the ladies category.
“Well for me it’s not about competing but beating my personal best time. Last week I had clocked 28:19 minutes, my time today was better by two minutes. I am happy about the achievement. I should be working extra hard to better my time in the next edition,” Magongo said.
Meanwhile, in the overall category, Mduduzi Dlamini was the winner beating the 101 runners who participated in the 81st edition. He finished the race in 17:22 minutes.
“Despite that it is a festive season; I will continue to partake in the parkrun just to keep fit and healthy. I encourage others to join the parkrun,” Mduduzi said.
