MANZINI – A new era has dawned at the hub. Finally, South African businessman Mehluli Nhlengetfwa will officially take over as Manzini Wanderers director.

Amid a number of challenges that had characterised the maroon and white outfit, supporters have been calling for new management.
Consequently, a task team, headed by the team’s former sole Director, Sikebhe Dlamini, was mandated by the team’s supporters to facilitate the removal of the team’s current directors.

The three directors who had been at the forefront of management are Percy Mngomezulu, Sandile ‘Chief’ Dlamini and Peter Mathaba.
Yesterday, all three directors, management, the National Supporters Committee (NSC) and supporters convened a meeting at The George Hotel.

The closed-door meeting lasted for about two hours. After the meeting, the directors referred all questions to the team’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pat Mahlalela.
The CEO highlighted that they had gathered to deliberate on the management set-up of the team, the directorship in particular.

“The spirit was good at the meeting and all three directors were present. They disclosed that they were willing to hand over the directorship to anyone presented by the Task team, provided he had the financial muscle,” said Mahlalela.
He said the directors made it no secret that Wanderers were a registered company and if it was to thrive, they (directors) were hopeful a suitable individual would take over.

“The directors asked the Task Team to present capable and willing individuals to take over and Nhlengetfwa’s name was presented by the task team,” he said.
However, the CEO disclosed that unfortunately, the South African businessman was currently in his home country. “The directors then proposed that a meeting be convened on Saturday morning where they will meet Nhlengetfwa and do the official handover,” said the CEO.
