MBABANE – Sihlangu are back in camp tomorrow for their ‘dead rubber’ Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifier against Niger next Sunday.

Sihlangu were eliminated in the race to the 2019 AFCON finals to be staged in Cameroon with two games to spare following a terrible qualifying campaign. However, they are still required to honour the fixtures against Niger and Tunisia at home and away, respectively.

According to a correspondence from the Eswatini Football Association (EFA), South Africa’s Maritzburg forward Justice Figereido is the only international in the team while veteran Green Mamba goalkeeper Thokozani Mkhulisi gets a call-up for the first time in more than half a decade.

Also expected in camp tomorrow at the EFA Technical Centre in Lobamba are the national Under-23s who will do duty against Mozambique in back-to-back AFCON qualifiers from next Friday. The first match will be played away.

Premier League, National First Division and regional players are in the 24-member squad selected by interim coach Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane. Mbabane Highlanders’ duo of full-back Peter Dlamini and grafter Ndumiso Mabuza as well as Manzini Sundowns gifted shot-stopper Lwethu Simelane are among the notable members of the junior squad.
