MBABANE – The search for a new Mbabane Swallows public relations officer is over.

Long-serving Swallows National Supporters Committee Secretary Jackson Dlamini has officially stepped in the shoes of the late Sibusiso Manana, who died on May 5 last year. The latter had been promoted to the post of acting CEO before he passed on, but still diligently carried out the PRO duties.

Swallows General Manager Sandile Zwane, who has been keeping the fire burning since the untimely demise of Manana, announced the appointment of Dlamini yesterday, expressing hope that the latter would keep the Swallows brand ‘soaring higher.’

“Jackson is a man of integrity and qualifies for the job. He has worked with the team for a long time, so he is the right man to take the baton from Manana.
“We hope he will get the necessary support from all stakeholders,” said Zwane.

Dlamini was honoured by the vote of confidence, declaring his readiness to work with all stakeholders that include sponsors.
“I would like to thank the appointing authority for the opportunity,” the 48-year-old said briefly.

Meanwhile, Dlamini has been in the supporters’ structure since 2006. He has been vibrant since coming on board and sometimes markets the supporters’ international trips on national radio, where he gets to sing the team’s praises.

He once served as NSC vice secretary. At one point, he was vice chairman of a structure that was tasked with reviving the team’s supporters’ branch.
This publication, on the other hand, had exclusively reported about a pending move to appoint Dlamini in the past week.
