MANZINI – Egypt coach Javier Agguire believes they are was still a better team without Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah.

The ‘Pharaohs’ will face the national team, Sihlangu this afternoon without their goal-scoring machine who was released from the squad after limping off after the 4-1 win on Friday. Egypt face Sihlangu at Mavuso Sports Centre at 3pm in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers match.

Agguire said Salah was an important player to the team but the squad would be capable to record a victory even without him. He said players get injured all the time and as a coach, you have to deal with that.

“He is an important player for the team but we will do it even without him as the squad is full of good players who are capable of grinding positive results. Our main goal here is to win the match and collect maximum points,” he said.
The Egypt squad spent an hour training at Mavuso Sports Centre with the team focusing on creating team spirit as the players were taken through some teamwork exercises.

The squad includes English Premier League side team Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny and West Bromwich’s Ahmed Hegazi.
Meanwhile, Agguire said they were not taking Sihlangu for granted as they gave them a scare in the second half of the match on Friday.
He said Sihlangu second half showing was much improved and they did well.

Sihlangu scored their lone goal through Mbabane Highlanders Sabelo ‘Sawa’ Gamedze who scored a long-range spectacular goal.
