LOBAMBA – Misconduct during Mbabane Highlanders’ games will come with a heavy price for the team’s supporters.

It was proposed during the team’s supporters meeting yesterday at Lobamba High School that a fan or supporter who would commit an offence should be suspended for five games at the stadium during the team’s games.

A supporter, who identified himself as Sandile Gwebu, said it was important that fans who committed an offence are dealt with accordingly to set a precedent.
“An offender must be banned at the stadium during Highlanders’ games for at least five matches,” said Gwebu.

He said the fan who is on the wrong side of the law must feel a pinch so that they learn and do not repeat such.
“The team suffers the consequences thereafter,” said the supporter.

Lobamba Lomdzala Member of Parliament-elect (MP) Marwick Khumalo, who is the Director of Highlanders, shared the same sentiments with the supporter.
“The offending fan must be banned from games because he is a liability to the team,” said Khumalo.

Supporters were applauded for removing a fan from the stadium who threw a can into the field of play at a recent game.
The other supporters escorted the offender to the police vehicle at the stadium.

It was highlighted that the team would pay massive fines for the bad behaviour of supporters.
