MBABANE – Resistance is what coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe has instilled in his players ahead of the tough MTN League opener against Green Mamba tomorrow.

Speaking at a first-of-its-kind pre-match media conference, thanks to new PLE CEO, Simanga Nhleko, Hlophe and his team’s captain Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya declared all the negative media reports would not count tomorrow, referring to non-payment of players’ salaries for last month as reported by our sister publication, Times of Swaziland this past Wednesday.

“As Wanderers, we are ready.  I believe every club has its internal problems but I always tell my players to be resistant towards bad publicity. Resist, that’s what we tell them as coaches and they will go out there and fight. Whenever we start the league, we face strong teams and it is up to us to be fully prepared. I would also like to call upon all Weslians’ supporters and the nation of Eswatini to come in their numbers to support us,” he added.

To add onto the coach’s words, Wanderers captain, Lwazi ‘Shana’ Maziya urged the surpporters to avoid violence regardless of the match results. “We are ready for the league and all our players are still with us. We have also added a few more players such as Daniel Atakorah from Swallows, as well as former Matsapha United defender Sifiso ‘Tjovitjo’ Maseko. I would also like to plead with all the football fans to respect each other and avoid violence,” he said.
