MBABANE – South Africa’s National First Division League outfit Mbombela United, gave their new signee in Eswatini international Felix Badenhorst, the shirt number seven.

It is the same shirt number he donned at Mbabane Swallows before leaving to join United after their CAF Champions League second leg clash against Etoile Du Sahel at Mavuso Sports Centre, Badenhorst’s last appearance in the red and white shirt last month.
United unveiled him two weeks ago with the shirt number 7 in his hand.

“It could have been any number and I was ready to take whatever was there for me. I was just lucky to get the seven available,” Badenhorst said.
He said while he was looking forward to a fresh start at United, he missed their opening game last Saturday due to work permit issues. This also affected his then teammate and friend at Swallows, Sandile ‘Nkomishi’ Ginindza, who was on the bench during the Etoile clash at Mavuso before Swallows announced their release.

Also linked with a move to United is midfielder Njabulo ‘D4D’ Ndlovu, who wants to follow his Swallows former teammates. He appeared for the club last Saturday against Zambia’s Zesco United, losing 3-0 in the process but prior to that, had not trained with the club until a few days before the CAF Champions League match.
Swallows also lost left back Sanele Mkhweli to TS Sporting, also in the same league with Badenhorst and Ginindza’s team.
