MBABANE - Malanti Chiefs are coach-less again, barely a month after hiring Manuel Moyane.
This is after they fired the coach after allegedly not cooperating with the management.

One of the co-directors, Victor Rodriguez, confirmed that they had parted ways with Moyane. “He wanted to act like the director of the team than being a coach. He wanted to come with his players and further shun training. He also did not want to attend some of the friendly games. He was just uncooperative in many instances and we could not carry on like this. We decided to end things and look for a new coach,” Rodriguez alleged.
The co-director further allegedly said he was also fighting with his assistant.

“Sam Diale has been here for long and he knows the culture of the team but Moyane wanted to change everything. He wanted the team to train in the morning only and stop training in the afternoon,” he alleged.
He further said it was unfortunate that their relationship had to end prematurely.

“We are working around the clock looking for his replacement. The league is starting on September 14 and we should have a new coach by then. We are looking for a coach who will embrace the culture of the team and work with management,” he added. Meanwhile, Moyane was guns blazing when asked to relate his side of the story which led to him being fired.

“Look man, that team is very unprofessional. In fact, they do not deserve to play in the elite league. The way they run the team is very pathetic my brother. They hired me as a coach. I am a CAF A licence holder and I know what is expected of me. However, here there was a lot of interference and unrealistic demands,” Moyane alleged. The Mozambican mentor, who replaced Zambian gaffer Christopher Tembo, also alleged that the manager organised friendly games without telling him.

“I cannot be told what to do because I know what my job entails. There was a lot that was not going right at Malanti that made me to question how they run the team. When they told me they have terminated my contract, I was happy,” he said.
